Dance Theatre MD: Igloo
Igloo takes its viewers on an icy adventure, where the brave and spirited emperor penguin Buzika tries to survive on the sea ice in Antarctica.
One day, Buzika rescues a graceful creature called Böbö from the sea, entangled in plastic waste. With their imagination and creativity, the friends face and overcome even the biggest challenges.
The story also features Paau, a polar bear who has left the North Pole to find new habitats, as well as other colorful sea creatures.
Along their adventures, Buzika and Böbö develop a deep friendship and encounter exciting situations in which they learn to overcome their fears and accept imperfection and difference.
The idea behind the performance is climate change and the importance of protecting endangered animals. Ecological thinking has been incorporated into the staging and costumes of Igloo by utilizing recycled materials.
