Helsinki Papermaking Association: pulp
Pulp is an exhibition organized by the artists of Helsinki Papermaking Association.
These artists share the interest in slow processes and the collaboratory attitude with the material. Paper takes many forms and meanings in their artworks, moving from mere material to a subject, becoming conceptual – an idea.
The printmaking paper strips, textile left-overs, self-grown fibre plants, outworn bedsheets and old paper archives turned obsolete all transform into contemporary art – some of the materials still carrying the meanings from their previous lives, some taking utterly new forms and contents.
The artists of the exhibition are: Päivikki Alaräihä, Synnöve Dickhoff, Marja-Leena Eerola, Vappu Johansson, Outi Koivisto, Astri Laitinen, Liina Mäki-Patola, Emma Peura, Jenni Rahkonen, Laura Ruotsalainen, Noora Sandgren, Irma Tonteri and Maria Valkeavuolle
The Finnish Cultural Foundation has supported the exhibition.
