Maippi Ketola: 
I Want to See What I Look Like

Maippi Ketola's exhibition includes sideshow posters that she has painted herself as a model. The exhibition also features documentary animations. In the animations, the artist does the same routines every morning for 54 days, and during that time she grew a real woman's beard. With her exhibition, Ketola wants to raise a flag for hairy women, for those who, out of shame, shave and hide their hair like she herself did before. Since then, Ketola has kept the beard and for this, a big thank you goes to all the passersby who treat her the same way they did before. The exhibition is part of the official program of Helsinki Pride 2025.
