The Night of the Arts at Cable Factory is again full of fun programme for the whole family!
People working at Cable Factory are offering their best: step in through open doors, meet artists, come and see different shows, demonstrations and open rehearsals, take part in workshops and guided tours, or visit exhibitions and three different museums.
You can also enjoy music, read magazines, eat tasty snacks at cafés and restaurants, and just enjoy the great atmosphere!

You will find an info point in the Cable Factory’s main lobby where you can get information on the evening’s programme. There is another info point for the event in C Lobby. Fill up your evening programme brochure by getting it stamped at all the stamping points in the Cable Factory, and claim your prize of a face painting at the info point in the Glass Courtyard.

Art café, wine bar and restaurant. (T)raba opened its doors almost a year ago and will celebrate its birthday on the Night of the Arts! There will be champagne and menu offers as well as complimentary coffee and cake!

Dance House Helsinki: Dancing Pina Film Screening

Pina Bausch revolutionised modern dance with her choreography. But what remains of her legacy? Two spectacular dance projects show how a young generation of dancers from all over the world is rediscovering Pina‘s choreography. A fascinating metamorphosis: while the dancers from street dance, classical ballet, traditional and modern African dance transform Pina‘s work, Pina‘s choreography transforms the dancers. Dancing Pina – a visually intense and emotional journey into the world of modern dance and beyond.

Jamkids: music work shop

At Jamkids music work shop kids can sing, move about and play all sorts of instruments with Jamkids’ instructors. Jamkids organises fun music classes for 0-6-year-olds. All the family are welcome to experience the joy of making music and to chat about music as a hobby for the kids!

Cable Factory Round

How well do you know the Cable Factory? The Cable Factory Round is a guided tour lasting about 50 minutes where you get to see the varied spaces at the Cable Factory, its rich history and colourful hall of fame, from an Olympic medallist to factory managers and artists. Tours are accessible. Maximum of 20 persons on one tour.
MUU Helsinki Contemporary art centre: Videokaffe: SCREEN BREACH - Connecting workrooms via virtual bridges with physical effects performance and Videokaffe: Digital Entities & Analog Beings exhibition

The international artist collective Videokaffe will have a performance simultaneously in Kobe, Japan and Helsinki, Finland. Videokaffe artists working currently at MUU Helsinki Contemporary art centre will collaborate with Japanese artists Rui Sakurai and Yukiko Nakamura to present a 15-minute performance combining movement, sound, and visual art. The performance will be held between 19-21 on 2-3 occasions.

Kekäläinen & Company: Open rehearsals - Shared Space And Things We Need

Welcome to follow open rehearsals of Kekäläinen & Company’s new work Shared Space And Things We Need. You can join us for as long as you like. Please remove your shows on arrival. There is a wheelchair ramp to the space and a 65 cm wide corridor. ”Each era has its own fateful question. In this work the shared space also extends to materials, their organocenic quality and taking care of them. The ways of being and expression in the work ask what is sharing and what is hospitality in performing arts. Space and experience are shared in the same way as the world is shared and common.”

The dance society organizes open doors at Balanssi Studios space. Everyone can come and try couple dancing!
Drawing Gallery D5: Syömään! art exhibition and workshop for children

Kids’ drawing workshop and presentation of Susana Nevado’s and Sari Torvinen’s exhibition Syömään! Kids get to draw edible plants and their favourite foods using different equipment.

The Theatre Museum is opening its exhibitions and the stage to visitors to use. Welcome – get to know, see and try out what theatre is all about!
The Theatre Museum’s exhibitions invite you to explore theatre and dance. Everybody Dance! is an exhibition about the joy of dance. Come and remember the hit dances of yesteryear and create new ones! Tarpeisto pääroolissa is an exhibition of props you can dive into the world of props and get to see the skills of prop makers.
In the Arkadia Theatre dressing room you can change roles or jump into the shoes of a costume designer or lighting technician. When the curtain goes up, the stage is yours!
Hotel and Restaurant Museum

Community artwork non-stop at 17-20: Preserving memories for all the family. Autumn is harvest time, when the bounty of the garden is collected and preserved. The museum also decided to preserve memories: what summer memories would you like to preserve for winter? Come and record your best summer moments! In the community artwork we make and decorate cardboard cans to store your own sweet memories.
