Pro Kaapeli ry was founded in 1990 by cultural tenants based at Cable Factory.
Their goal was to keep Cable Factory in cultural use and preserve Merikaapelihalli as one undivided space. The association achieved its goal when the City of Helsinki approved their alternative plan to preserve Cable Factory.
The Pro Kaapeli gallery tells the story of Pro Kaapeli through newspaper articles published between 1990 and 2001.
